Popularization Event

The popularization of science is a challenge for academic research in that it creates a bridge between universities, places of knowledge and transmission, and the general public. To popularize is first of all to disseminate knowledge pedagogically, to make a phenomenon of any kind understandable (in this case physical) to a non-expert public (of any age). Scientific conferences bring together experts in a very specific field, and we are keen to transmit our passion: acoustics, to the inhabitants of the cities that host us.

During each conference, we propose a public event of about 1h00/1h30, free and open to all (scientists or not). Between live experiments and playful pedagogical presentation of physical concepts, we try every year to use different prisms (music, 7th art) to transmit the basic principles.

This year, we will invite a professional jazz band, Ophonius, composed of 5 musicians including 2 professors from the LAUM, who will propose a scientific concert on the physics of musical instruments. More info: http://www.ophonius.net/concerts-scientifiques/
